Dear Friend of Girls Inc. of the Island City,
Thanks to our extremely generous and enthusiastic attendees, sponsors, auction donors, volunteers, Board and committee members, and staff--our sold-out 17th Annual Women Who Dare luncheon was the most successful one ever! Funds raised at our event will help support innovative and transformative programs that inspire girls to be strong (healthy), smart, (educated), and bold (independent).
Claudine Wong, our emcee from media sponsor, KTVU Fox 2, not only took one of the best selfies ever (see below), but she also set the empowering and inspirational tone for the day. Our Women Who Dare awardees, Best Foot Forward girls, and keynote speaker, Kate Schatz, rocked the house with their fantastic presentations.
Congratulations again to these exceptional honorees: Kelly Carlisle, Janet Koike, Fernanda Castro, Maria Zarifis, and Akiko "Faith" Yamato.
