ANIKA MILLER
Girls Inc. Teen
Senior, Alameda High School
|
Anika is an honor student with a 4.0 GPA. They joined Girls Inc. of the Island City (GIIC) in eighth grade through the Eureka! Program. In the five years they’ve been attending GIIC, Anika also participated in other empowering programs including Passport to Success and Ethical Fashion Show. Anika’s participation in Eureka! taught them a lot of science skills and many essential life skills. Thanks to Girls Inc. programs, their staff and partners, and the many friends made along the way, Anika gained confidence in their abilities and pride in their identity. With so much experience and knowledge gained through GIIC programs, they’re excited to visualize a future for themself in STEM. Currently, Anika serves as President of the Alameda High Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) and as Student Co-Chair of AUSD LGBTQ+ Roundtable. Their work with GSA has been immensely rewarding, and they’re grateful for the opportunity to support and advocate for other queer students.
